Trust is the new currency, if the past few years have taught us anything. No, you cannot use it to pay your suppliers, but if you’re great at creating it, you can increase innovation, foster loyalty, and reduce turnover.
Younger talent, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, look up to leaders who are open, vulnerable, and willing to own up to their mistakes. Whoah! We are aware. However, in 2025, being the most genuine and real is more important for authority than being the loudest person in the room.
How does this fit into your calendar, which is already full? In reality, it’s not a calendar thing. It’s more about doing things differently. Consider “micro-transparency” – small shares about what’s going on behind the scenes, what you’re learning and what you’re struggling with. Your team will see it, they will trust you more for it and everyone wins.
